No, not any of the real Reykjavik marathons that occur in Spring or Fall. I’ve set a personal goal for this trip to walk a marathon — 26.2 miles — from the time I leave my front door until I return in 9 days. Wait … no, no, no, that’s not true at all. I’ve set a goal to ENJOY REALLY GOOD FOOD AND WINE IN ICELAND. A noble goal that I stand behind. But, in order to offset the health impact of my love of all things delicious, I’ve set a subgoal of walking, running, or crawling 26.2 miles.
As I write this, I have walked 4.2 miles but have more plans for the day. Stay tuned for mileage updates.

“Our goals can only be reached through a vehicle of a plan, in which we must fervently believe, and upon which we must vigorously act. There is no other route to success.” — Pablo Picasso
“By recording your dreams and goals on paper, you set in motion the process of becoming the person you most want to be. Put your future in good hands—your own.” — Mark Victor Hansen
