This year, I am thankful for my family and friends who wish me “bon voyage,” are concerned for my safety while I travel, listen to my tales with interest, and welcome me home with open arms. Thank you, all.
Happy Thanksgiving to my American tribe; forever thanks to my Canadian. — L

November 23, 2017 at 8:44 amI’m pretty sure there are no rules about being thankful. Turkey and football, on the other hand, is only for Americans today.

November 23, 2017 at 8:33 am“Remember the Thanksgiving I spent at the ION in Iceland?” That will be a story for years to come. So what is on the menu for Thanksgiving dinner at the ION?

November 23, 2017 at 8:50 amThe hotel’s restaurant, Silfra (named for the gap between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates which is in this general vicinity), serves a “New Nordic” menu. Lots of seafood, herbs, lamb, etc. No turkey. I’ll report back on dinner choice.

November 23, 2017 at 7:06 pmI am grateful this Thanksgiving night to read your blog posts. I am laughing, oohing and aahing, and salivating (I want some of that bread). What a great way to wrap up the holiday. I really want to know more about that “involuntary shouting” that may have occurred at the geyser. Who would have done that? I do hope you see the aurora borealis before you head home. Safe travels!
