Japan sampling; More to come

Kon’nichiwa everyone! Apologies for falling off the face of the earth for more than a few days. Came down with a miserable cold on the first day in Japan and dragged by butt through Kyoto feeling unwell. Three more stops down the road, I’m in the mountains in Takayama and feeling much better 😀.  I’ll leave you today with a photo collection of a few of the greatest hits of the last week and half and will then back up and document the journey from where I left you off in Dallas. Stay tuned.

Mt Fuji from Shinkansen train between Tokyo and Kyoto (Photo: Marte)

Imperial Palace Garden, Kyoto

Sparrows and few other treats for snacking at Nishiki Market, Kyoto

But don’t even think about snacking on your sparrow as you browse through the market

Monks in Koyasan. Check out the wooden clogs!

Miyajima Island Torii Gate

And. So. Much. More. Big stuff and little details. Beautiful and smelly. Hilarious and touching. Back soon.

BTW, running tally … 46.5 miles on foot so far.

Fantastic photos!! Especially the (no-doubt) yummy sparrows! If the cold didn’t wear you down, all that walking must be taking a toll. Good for you for persisting despite adversity! Thanks for sharing!!
